From Scaling Search Engines to Tracking the "Sacred Guide"
I’m Sébastien Loix. I spent years as a Principal Engineer at Elastic, but in late 2024, I decided to resign and bet entirely on my own investment strategy. This tool is the result of that transition.
The "Why" Behind the Project
When I began managing my portfolio full-time, I hit a wall. I couldn’t find a single tool online that allowed me to truly analyze my trade history. I needed to know: "If I sell today in 2026, which specific shares from 2022 am I selling, and what is my actual tax liability?"
Beyond that, most trackers forced me to choose between an "equity tracker," a "crypto app," or a "manual spreadsheet." I needed a single source of truth that unified Spot Equity, Options, and Crypto in one place.
"I built this because it was going to be my 'sacred guide' to ensure I don’t have to worry about money until I turn 120."
The Philosophy: Where the Puck is Going
My investment journey changed when I found the InvestAnswers community. If you don't know James, you should check out his YouTube channel. His dedication to sharing knowledge on finance, macro, and market positioning is unmatched.
James taught me the importance of positioning yourself where the puck is going to be. To do that effectively, you need clear data. You need to be able to make decisions quickly without wrestling with your spreadsheet for hours.
Optimizing for Freedom (and Taxes)
Living off investments requires discipline, and a big part of that is controlling your environment. I eventually moved to Andorra. It offers the perfect balance of beautiful nature and safety, while being a tax-friendly jurisdiction perfectly situated between France and Spain.
This environment allows me to focus on what matters: refining this tool and my portfolio.
The Mission & Commitment
This project is, first and foremost, a tool I built for myself. I am currently in a private beta (invite-only) and plan to release it under a yearly license model.
